Yakisugi flamed
The grain in the wood is accentuated by flaming the top layer of the wood.

Yakisugi Light
The top layer of wood is burnt 1 to 2 mm.

The top layer of wood is burnt 2 to 3 mm.
Medium and heavy burning are the most commonly chosen assignments.
